Lant Street Wines
Our next door neighbours and favourite winery, Lant Street Wine are no strangers to seeing us at their tasting nights!
Location: 59-61 Lant St, London SE1 1QN
Lant Street Wine, eat, sleep, breathe, and drink all things wine- they know their stuff!
They’ve called Borough home since 1986 and are on a mission to find and import the best wine to serve to their customers. If you’re fortunate enough to head into their beautiful urban space, you will be faced with walls of hand picked wine from all over the world. As independent wine merchants you can be assured that they have tried and tested every wine on offer- lucky them!
A favourite with us at Leonard Leese is their tasting nights, only £15 and you are guaranteed a very fun time!
Lant Street have been a great help with hosting Toby’s charity fundraising night in aid of Depaul last year before Toby ran the marathon (in record time!) and we hope to do more fantastic work with them soon.
Kino Bermondsey
An independent cinema that gives you an experience before you even watch the film!
Location: 10 Bermondsey Square, London SE1 3UN
Kino Bermondsey is an independent cinema which screens arthouse, classic and indie films that you’re likely not see in mainstream cinemas.
The unique part of Kino is the bar where you can enjoy a drink and game of table tennis before heading into your screening, even better is that you can take your drink with you- like Netflix and chill but more luxurious!
Just because it’s independent, it doesn’t have to break the bank as on Tuesday’s Kino run a 2-4-1 ticket offer so you can make the most of seeing all the new hits.

Blink and you would miss them, Tartufaia is the secret gem of Borough Market
Location:9 Stoney St, London SE1 9AA
Tartufaia is a market stall that specialises in all things truffle, producing mouthwatering oils, honey, jams, butter and even brie. You dream a truffle fusion, Tartufaia probably has created it!
Bermondsey Bees @ Giggling Grocer
Bee-lieve it or not, this very special raw honey is produced on a rooftop in Bermondsey!
Location: 103 Bermondsey St, London SE1
Named ‘Small Artisan Producer of the Year’ in 2016, Bermondsey Bees is the idea of Dale Gibson, a beekeeper with a big dream to make a rooftop in Bermondsey the perfect environment to attract bees. As an advocate for the protection of bees, Dale has been at the forefront of planting initiatives to make our city more bee-friendly and keep those green spaces thriving for years to come.
The honey produced shows the hard work that goes into creating the final product. The raw, unprocessed honey has won many awards for taste and producer responsibility. If you want to get your hands on this unique product head down to Giggling Grocer on Bermondsey Street who stock the range and other artisan goods from traders in the local area.
HEJ!
If you’ve seen our Twitter feed, it will come as no surprise that we love spending some time out in HEJ!
Location: 1 Bermondsey Square, SE1 3UN
This is a coffee shop with strong Swedish vibes that greet you as soon as you lay your eyes on the shop exterior. The dark green painted brick contrasted with the beautiful flowers on display is an Instagram dream and the coffee doesn’t disappoint.
Inside you will meet the HEJ staff who are as passionate about the coffee and food served as the customers they serve it to. Always willing to recommend new blends and help their customers have the best experience.
If you thought HEJ was just coffee, think again!
Renowned for their cinnamon buns, they also offer savoury treats in the form of loaded bagels and mouth-watering open sandwiches. Of course, they also dish up the trademark food of Sweden- the Swedish meatballs- a favourite with customers!
As an SE1 resident ourselves, we are excited about the area and our neighbours!
To share a taste of SE1 we have curated an exclusive hamper which includes gifts from HEJ, 2 x cinema tickets, organic teas, and not forgetting all the truffle goodies and sensational Spanish olive oils to dip until your heart is content!
